I almost compromised

I almost settled for less than I deserved

That was before I woke up to the realisation that I am bigger than that

I deserve way more than that.

For a second, I stopped believing in the fact that I am amazing, priceless, valuable;

A gem that should only be discovered by those who have taken the time to seek for the treasure

I am grateful for the forces within me that rebelled against mediocrity and settling for what’s there;

The forces within me that reminded me that there is always more…If I just WAIT.
